Hmmmmm I’m not really sure we live in the same town:) We run a small local recording studio and we have had several very talented indi artist from right here come thru! The problem is not the lack of bands I can name several with out trying…Hursh, Northshore, Jimmy Says, Levi Britton,Sparks Fly Up, Ratones…just to name some…the problem is venues do not want indi…specially local Artist…they want cover bands…and if you approach them as an independent they will insist you play covers to work there…they also want to pay local less. We have held at least 3 shows at Inside Out…Mike rocks…and everytime we have brought in 2-3 hundred people…just grass root facebook invites.I don’t think there is a lack of artist….I also havent seen anyone from NM# at any of the local events…call us sometime-rjh Sonic Bloom Recording

Your article is pretty much on target on a local level. On a global level its a relatively small number of “Taste Makers” who dictate what “Good Fine Art” is and what prices and investments are. Even though I’m not starving or that hungry, I do love that newly discovered Northern Michigan delicacy: CHERRY Chocolate Chip Cookies. Thank you very much.

Well done. I agree that we have to follow our passions. It is as if we are born with an innate sense of who we are that we discover more about along the way. For me it is practicing law.
